How to Link Pan Card to Aadhar Card Using Income Tax Website?
In this article I am going to explain you about How to Link Aadhar With PAN Card and why Linking Your Aadhaar Card to PAN Card is important. As per recent policy of Government of India, linking your Aadhar card UID to your pan card /pan number is mandatory in India. By recent statement, you have to link your Aadhar Card with Pan Card by 31 December 2025.
Most important thing to know is you cannot file income tax return without linking your Aadhaar card to PAN card. So, you must link your Aadhar Card with your PAN Card.
How To Link Pan Card with Aadhar Card?
Follow steps for Link Pan card with Aadhar card:
- First Go to Official website of income tax department. and select side menu to Link Aadhar Card.
- Now enters your Pan Card and Aadhar card details, click on Validate button.
- Check the box “I Agree to validate my Aadhar Details with UIDAI”, Enter Captcha shown in image or OTP.
- After filling all the required PAN and Aaadhar details, now click on Link Aadhar Button.
- A pop up message will appear that your Aadhaar will be successfully linked to your PAN.
That is all you don’t need to anything further. Your Aadhaar card is linked with your PAN card.
You can also link your PAN Number with Aadhar Number via SMS also. Income Tax Department is providing a facility to link your Aadhaar Number and PAN number via SMS also.
Linking of Aadhaar Number With PAN Card via SMS
Now you can also link your Aadhaar and PAN through SMS from your registered mobile number. The Income Tax Department has urged taxpayers to link their Aadhaar Card with their PAN card, using an SMS-based facility. Please follow these steps:
It can be done by sending an SMS from your registered mobile number to either 567678 or 56161.
Send SMS to 567678 or 56161 from your registered mobile number in the following format: UIDPAN<SPACE><12 digit Aadhaar><Space><10 digit PAN>
Example: UIDPAN 123456789123 AKPLM2124M
